Kettle Korn popcorn is an age-old tradition brought to life in the mid 1800's by Missouri farmers. These German Immigrants featured a lightly salty and slightly sweetened popcorn as the grand finale to their fall festivals. After a day of slaughtering hogs and rendering the lard. They would put a little lard and popcorn in their large cast iron kettle and then sweeten with honey, molasses or sugar. The corn was cooked over a wood fire, stirred with a wooden paddle, dumped into a large kettle and scooped out by hand.
